Kuala Lumpur II: Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur City Center

Today I went to visit Malaysia's most recognizable landmarks and one of the world's greatest architectural achievements: The Petronas Twin Towers.

Note about the map: This is actually a bit deceptive, since we took public transportation for most of the journey to and from, but it still gives you a sense of how far it is. Google Maps doesn't yet support public transport options for KL.

According to Wikipedia, the Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004, after they were supplanted in that role by Taiwan's Taipei 101. However, they are still the tallest twin structures in the world, which is nice.

At the base of the towers is a very large commercial center and a park, hence most folks 'round here talk about the KLCC, that is the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
